Overview

Apeejay School Faridabad is a co-educational English-medium day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) teaching classes from kindergarten to XII. It was promoted in 1972 by the Apeejay Education Society with the specific objective of “meeting the educational needs of the growing city” of Faridabad. Set on a sprawling campus in Sector 15, the school concentrates on developing the three ‘A’s — Attitude, Awareness and Ability – within students. A member of the National Progressive Schools Conference, Apeejay offers a choice of three academic streams at the plus-two level: science, commerce and humanities.

Campus

Apeejay School, Faridabad has a separate primary section campus housing classes I to V located in Sector 14. The specially designed octagonal building is sited on two and a half acres dotted with flowery shrubs and ornamental trees. The primary school campus offers infrastructural facilities for badminton, table tennis, soccer, cricket, throw ball, volleyball, etc. The senior school (classes VI-XII) is sited on the main campus in Sector 15. Spread over three-storeyed buildings on a sprawling green nine-acre campus, the senior school boasts a well-designed spacious auditorium, a swimming pool, two cemented basketball courts, a field where football, hockey and cricket can be played and a skating rink. Both the senior and the primary schools have a fine arts and dance room each to nurture creativity and talent. The school library houses over 18,000 books and subscribes to 40 magazines. It also has five computer labs with internet facility, science labs, two LCD projector rooms each fitted with a multimedia projector.

Academics

The school follows the CBSE syllabus and prepares students for the board’s All India Secondary and Senior Secondary examinations at the end of class X and XII respectively. In classes VI to IX, students can choose between French and Sanskrit along with Hindi and English. In plus two, students can choose one of three streams offered — science, humanities or commerce. Apeejay lays special emphasis on integrating value-based education within the school experience. For instance, the morning assembly includes prayer, meditation, story-telling and group singing, with students encouraged to participate in value-based programmes. 

Extracurricular: The school provides opportunities for many extracurricular activities. It offers hobby classes such as music, fine arts, drama, dance, cooking, embroidery, yoga, journalism and flower arrangement. Sports and games include soccer, cricket, and badminton, throw ball and volleyball. In addition, there are several clubs on campus such as the literary club, science club and inter-school science exhibitions are held regularly.

Admission

Notifications for admission into pre-nursery and nursery are published in the local newspapers in the first week of September. Admissions into the primary and middle school sections are conducted in the month of March. Parents have to fill in the admission form following which the students have to give a written test followed by an interview with the selection committee. Admissions to class XI for science, commerce and humanities streams are based on performance in the class X board examination.

Fees: The minimum yearly fee is Rs 70,000.

Achievement

A member of the National Progressive Schools Conference, Apeejay offers a choice of three academic streams at the plus-two level — science, commerce and humanities.

Other achievements by Apeejay students include Yashika Khurana (Class X) and Akshita Khurana (Class VII) winning two gold medals each, in 32nd Haryana State Sub – Junior/ Cadet & Junior Girls Kyorugi and Poomsae Taekwondo Championship 2020-21. 

Yashika Khurana was also awarded the ‘Girl’s Achiever’s Award’ by Honorable Deputy Commissioner, Shri YashPal Yadav ji, I.A.S. on the occasion of National Girl Child Day for her tremendous work in the ‘बेटी बचाओ बेटी पढ़ाओ योजना‘ as the Brand Ambassador.
