Ashok K. Chauhan, founder president of the Amity Education Group, has been conferred with the prestigious Agriculture Leadership Award 2025 by the minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, at the 16th Agriculture Leadership Conclave held in New Delhi.
The award recognises Chauhan’s outstanding global contributions to agricultural innovation, international collaboration, and sustainability. Under his visionary leadership, Amity has emerged as a frontrunner in education, research, and sustainable development — with agriculture being a central focus. His efforts have played a crucial role in advancing food security, climate resilience, and rural prosperity.
Expressing his gratitude, Chauhan said, “I am deeply honoured and humbled to receive this prestigious award. Agriculture is a cornerstone of global employment and economic growth. At Amity, we strive to integrate science, technology, and education to drive real-world impact in the agriculture sector.”
He also highlighted the achievements of Amity students, notably Suhani Chauhan, who was recently awarded the Pradhan Mantri Bal Puraskar for developing a solar-operated agri-vehicle, the ‘So-Apt Agro Vehicle’.
Speaking at the event, Piyush Goyal commended the government’s continued focus on agriculture, noting, “Under the visionary leadership of our prime minister, the sector has witnessed tremendous growth. Farmers are fulfilling the mission of ‘Local goes Global’, making agriculture pivotal to the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.”
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including senior political leaders and a former Chief Justice of India.
