Campus

The Avinashilingam University campus offers modern amenities for its students.There are advanced research laboratories for the research scholars and computer centre for the MCA and M.Sc Computer Science students throughout the week. The university houses two auditoriums with modern facilities. The Swami Vivekananda auditorium accommodates 500 members and the Thiruchitrambalam auditorium has a capacity to seat over 2000 members. The library facility is available for faculty members, research scholars, students and administrative staff. The Saradalaya Press which was established in the year 1979 to provide employment opportunities for women in the area Printing Technology is currently focused on computerised offset printing. The press is also being utilised as a Training Laboratory for B.E. Printing Technology students.

General Information

Admission

Admission procedure for undergraduate courses in Avinashilingam University is as follows: Application forms should be submitted within 10 days of publication of Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary Examination. It can be sent through post to the office of the registrar within the stipulated time. Eligibility citeria: Students should have passed 12th class/equivalent from a recognised board. Candidate should have completed 17 years of age and should be less than 23 years at the time of appearing for admission. Admission procedure for Postgraduate courses in Avinashilingam University is as follows: All applications should be submitted in person or post to the university address. The candidates who have received the intimation card should report to the concerned department in the university campus on the specified date of the entrance testand interview. The selected list of the candidates will be displayed on the notice board on the same day of interview. Eligibility Citeria: Students should have passed the qualifying three year degree course ( 10+2+3 or 11+1+3 pattern) from a recognised university with at least 55 percent in major subjects concerned. Achievement

The Vice Chancellor of Avinashilingam University received the National Award in 2010 from the then President Smt Pratibha Patil for “Outstanding service for the empowerment of persons with diabilities” The university is accredited category “A” by MHRD and “A” grade by NAAC

Accommodation

There are six hostels within the campus namely Kalaimagal Illam, Thirumagal Illam, Malaimagal Illam, Malarmagal Illam, ArpanaIllam and Sarada Illam (New Hostel) for both boys and girls. The hostels have all modern amenities and conveniences for the students. The canteen provides hygienic and pure vegetarian food to the students. There are separate hostel buildings for the postgraduate students and staffs.
