QS Rankings ranks Bengaluru at 81 among world cities
The world’s best city for students for the second consecutive year is London. Bengaluru is ranked 81 in the worldwide rankings. This is according to the global education consultancy’s QS Quacquarelli Symonds worldwide rankings. London has left international cities such as Tokyo and Melbourne behind.
The ‘QS Best Student Cities ranking’, have been compiled by the global education consultancy QS Quacquarelli Symonds. Every city’s performance is based across the six categories – the number of top-ranked universities; the proportion of a city’s population made up of students; quality of life on offer; job opportunities available after graduation; affordability; and the feedback of the students themselves.
India’s best student city is Bengaluru which is 81, then by Mumbai 85, Delhi at 113 and Chennai at 115 out of a total of 120 cities ranked on the list.
London has left international cities such as Tokyo in Japan which is 2nd and Melbourne in Australia which is the 3rd behind. London has bagged the first place for the second consecutive year.
According to the research, the student population which is consistently moving from India to pursue studies in London has increased by 20 percent in 2017-18. This has marked an increase from 4,545 in 2016-17 to 5,455 in 2017-18.
