Bidya Bharati Girls’ High School, Kolkata is an all girls day school affiliated with the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education. The school was founded by Late Shri P K Das Gupta and his wife Late Smt. Bharati Das Gupta in 1965 under West Bengal Societies Act XXII of 1961.
The school was recognised by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education in 1968 and in 1999 Bidya Bharati was upgraded to a Higher Secondary School. Started with five students, the school has three units and the high school (V – XII) alone boasts student strength of 4000.
The school campus hosts a library featuring a collection of 8000 books, well equipped labs for physics, chemistry and biology, spacious and well ventilated classrooms, infirmary, indoor games room, multipurpose hall and a playground.
Affiliated with the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education, the school offers education from class I to XII. Thw faculty team comprises highly qualified and dedicated teachers. The school follows performance oriented method of teaching that instills in the students a competitive spirit and helps them to forge ahead successfully in life.

Application forms for admission to class I to VIII are available at the school office in November. The applicants need to write an admission test and the guardians are interviewed by the Head-Mistress.
Admission forms for class XI are available on the internet as soon as the class X/Madhyamik results are announced. Direct admission is offered to the students with excellent grades. Another batch of students is admitted on the basis of merit. They are selected by a board comprising the Principal and the Academic Council.
Students are admitted for the higher secondary classes in three streams: science, commerce and arts.

Being a day school, Bidya Bharati Girls’ High School, Kolkata does not offer accommodation facility.
