Jaipur Centre of Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra was founded in 1995 with the objective of providing quality education through innovative programmes and practices. It is reckoned among the leading institutes of Rajasthan today, in the field of Engineering, Applied Sciences and Management. The Jaipur campus functions under the academic guidance of the parent university at Mesra, Ranchi with respect to the academic curriculum, calendar as well as the semester examinations. The Jaipur campus of BIT, Mesra took off by offering postgraduate programmes in computer science and computer applications. Since then the range of programmes as well as the facilities have expanded for both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The institute’s Department of Animation and Media was set up to cater to the skilled manpower needs of the fast growing entertainment industry, particularly film and television industry. At the undergraduate level, the department offers the 4 year B.Sc. (Honors) in Animation & Multimedia programme. At the postgraduate level, it offers Master in Animation Design programme.

LabsEligibility for undergraduate program Candidates must have passed Class XII / Equivalent Qualifying Examination with 50 percent for general candidates (Pass for SC/ST) Percentage of marks in Class XII/ Equivalent Qualifying Examination shall be considered on the basis of board’s calculation of percentage for the award of division/degree/certificate Eligibility for postgraduate program Graduation in one of the streams - Fine arts, Performing Arts or Visual Arts from a recognized university with minimum 55 percent marks (45 percent for SC/ST). Or Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university with minimum 50 percent marks (45 percent for SC/ST) and one year work experience in any field of Arts.
