Founded in 1961, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Sardar Patel College of Engineering (SPCE), Mumbai is one of India's premier institutes of higer learning affiliated with the University of Mumbai. It offers undergraduate (Bachelor) and graduate (Master) degrees in engineering. The college is supported by government funds, and was granted autonomous status by the UGC in June 2010.
The college campus hosts spacious classrooms and a well-stocked library featuring a collection of around 45,000 books; more than 400 e-books (McGraw-Hill, Pearson, Proquest) and 3,500 bound volumes of journals - both national and international. Other facilities include canteen, medical aid, gymkhana and a counselling centre.

Eligibility for PG programmes Any candidate who has passed the Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) examination of Mumbai University or of any other university recognised as equivalent to the Bachelor of Engineering degree of Mumbai University is eligible for admission to the Master of Engineering (M.E.) degree course in the specific branch in which/she has obtained the degree of Bachelor of Engineering. Eligibility for UG programmes Candidates seeking admission into this course must have completed class XII from a recognised institute in India.
