CBSE 2018 Results out with overall pass percentage of 83.01, topper gets 499/500

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the Class 12 results this afternoon on its official website cbse.nic.in. Candidates can check their results on Microsoft Bing and Google as well by entering roll number, school number and centre number. Post-Result CBSE counseling will start today and continue until June 9, from 8 am to 10 pm on all days.
The pass percentage for 2017-18 academic session is 83.01 percent, a one percent increase from last year with 12737 students securing more than 95 percent and 72569 students obtaining than 90 percent. The girls outdid their male counterparts with 88.31%, while the boys recorded a pass percentage of 78.99 percent. The pass percentage in schools outside India is 94.94 percent. Trivandrum recorded highest pass percentage of 97.32%, Chennai stood second with 93.87%, followed by Delhi at 89%. 

Meghna Shrivastava of Step by Step School, topped the board with 499 marks out of 500 (99.8 percent), followed by Anoushka Chandra from SAJ School, Sec 14C, Vasundhara, Ghaziabad, who scored 498 marks. The third sport is tied with seven students from different cities in the northern region. The highest obtained marks last year were by Raksha Gopal who secured 99.6 percent.

The class 10 results are likely to be announced early next week.
