Center for Research in Art of Film and Television (CRAFT) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization registered as a public charitable trust to impart quality education in the field of film, television, and other media arts through short and long-term courses with specialization in various disciplines.
The college has its own campus and offers facilities like well lighted and spacious classrooms, library, internet, laboratories, and placement assistance to all the students
Courses offered: 1. PG Diploma in acting & modeling This is a 6 months course and the fee is Rs 55, 000/- 2. PG Diploma in cinematography A cinematographer is responsible for composing each frame in a scene to be shot and deciding the lighting and camera angles according to the requirements of the director. The cinematographer leads the camera/lighting team and is involved in the planning and execution of a shoot from the pre-production stage. This is a 1 year course and the fee is Rs 95,000/- 3. PG Diploma in film direction A director is responsible for managing all the creative aspects that go into the making of a film. A director decides the camera angle, directs the work of the cast and crew, and guides the work of the costume designers, choreographers, and music directors. The 1 year course has a fee of Rs 95,000/- 4. PG Diploma in radio jockey An RJ should sound pleasant when he is heard over the air. An RJ must get the feel of the medium and link his conversation to the music. He must have a general knowledge of the music he plays and not just having a leaning to one genre. Pop, hip-hop, the blues, and rock he should know and enjoy them all. The job is glamorous and fun but a lot of hard work. This is a 3 months course and the fee is Rs 25000/- 5. PG Diploma in T.V Journalism, news reading & anchoring The course provides a solid grounding on all aspects of studio and production skills. The practical training sessions focus on sharpening news gathering skills for radio and provide techniques for presenting and interviewing. Students are also familiarized with newsroom routines and procedures. The course also helps students make the most of their voices. Instead of trying to change their voices or accents, it strives to help them use their voices more effectively. This is a 9 month course with a fee of Rs 55000/-
The eligibility for undergraduate courses is 10+2 pass and for post graduate courses the eligibility is graduation. The admission to most of these courses is done through various entrance tests at different levels and for some of the courses the admission is done by applying directly to the college.
