Admission to BSc programmes at CMI is based on performance in an entrance examination that is conducted at centres across the country towards the end of May. Admission forms are distributed in early March. Students with exceptionally good performance in the National Science Olympiads may be exempted from writing the entrance examination at the discretion of the admissions committee. Admission to the MSc programmes takes place through a test administered at centres across the country towards the end of May. Admission forms are normally distributed in early March. Admission to PhD Candidates are selected on the basis of an entrance examination held during May in various centres across the country, followed by an interview held in Chennai. The academic session usually starts in August. The normal qualifications are MSc (for Mathematics and Physics) and MTech/ME (for Computer Science). Exceptional candidates with qualifications such as BSc/BTech/BE arealso considered. Fees- Fee structure is as follows: Courses Tuition fee per semester BSc Rs. 750/- MSc Rs. 1200/-
