April 21, CuriousJr, India’s first mobile-based coding platform for K12 students has successfully enabled students from various locations in Goa, including Madgaon, Ponda, Panjim, and Mormugao, to learn coding and develop various apps on their Mobile.
Coding has become an essential skill in today’s digital age, and Curiousjr. is on a mission to make it accessible to everyone. The app/platform offers an easy-to-use interface and interactive learning modules that cater to students of all ages and backgrounds.
Speaking on this Mridul Ranjan Sahu, Co-founder and CEO of Curious Jr said: “Our goal has always been to democratize coding education and make it accessible to as many students as possible. We are proud of the students in Goa who have taken advantage of our platform and have learned to code and create innovative apps. Our hope is that this initiative will inspire more students to take an interest in coding and pursue careers in technology.”
School going kids of Goa who have the zeal and passion to learn to code but don’t have access to laptops have had the opportunity to learn to code and develop their own apps through their smart phone. This initiative by Curiousjr has helped students develop valuable problem-solving and critical-thinking skills while also fostering their creativity.
Commenting on this a 12th standard student from Sangli, Abhijit Kadam said “I have had a wonderful journey with CuriousJr over the past year, and it has been an incredible learning experience. The application has made coding a truly fascinating and engaging process for me. I have discovered a whole new world of possibilities and found coding to be incredibly interesting. Thank you, CuriousJr, for providing me with such an enriching experience!”
Curiousjr.’s efforts in Goa are just the beginning of its mission to make coding accessible to everyone, regardless of their location or socioeconomic background. The app/platform is continually improving its features and expanding its reach to enable more students to learn to code and develop valuable skills for the future.
Ganesh from 12th standard from Ponda is learning coding with CuriousJr from last 3 months said “In the beginning, I faced challenges while coding, but now I see it as a game. It’s all about unlocking levels, solving puzzles, and creating something unique. The initial difficulties were stepping stones to developing a new perspective, and now I find joy in the process of coding and the endless possibilities it offers. It’s amazing how a change in mindset can turn what seemed daunting into something enjoyable and fulfilling.”
CuriousJr started with the idea of enabling students without laptops to learn to code on their mobiles since 88% of K12 students in India do not have access to laptops. The team is envisioning and innovating coding on small displays in order to enable students to study and code on mobile devices. The COVID lockdown raised awareness about coding, and the government made coding a mandatory subject in the school curriculum. Still, the majority of users and schools do not have access to laptops or desktop computers, creating a problem to solve for code learning on mobile devices, which can provide access to people all over the country.
