Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DA-IICT), Gandhinagar, promoted by the Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation and the Reliance Group, took off in August 2001 with 240 undergraduate students for its Bachelor of Technology program in Information and Communication Technology. It was recognised as a university on 6 March 2003 by the government of Gujarat, and eventually expanded to include postgraduate courses such as M.Des, MS (IT), MTech (ICT), MS (IT-Agriculture), along with a Doctorate program. DA-IICT represents Wave-4 of educational innovation in Gujarat, which focuses on higher education and private participation. DA-IICT is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) as approved by the AIU in its eighth annual meeting held during 12-14 November 2009. The institute is not supported by any financial aid from the central or state government, as it is a private, non-affiliating university.
Being ranked among the top 10 engineering colleges in India, DA-IICT students get placed in renowned organizations such as Mphasis, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Flipkart, Airtel, Deloitte, JPMorgan, IBM, Google, Accenture, HP, Oracle, Tech Mahindra, and Samsung, among others.
DA-IICT’s expansive 50 acre campus hosts state-of-the-art infrastructure to enable students to excel. Facilities include a well-stocked resource centre, modern lecture halls, well-equipped labs, a food court, medical facility, etc.

At the undergraduate level, DA-IICT offers four-year B.Tech programme (Information and Communication Technology)

Doctoral Programme
DA-IICT PhD programme provides opportunities in academia or research and development establishments. The research ideas are widely spread in the areas of ICT, Humanities, Social Sciences, Design and Arts.
Filling of online application forms commences in April and closes by June end.
The minimum academic qualification for admission to the undergraduate programmes is that the candidate must have passed in final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) or its equivalent. The candidate must have passed in final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) or its equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and any one of Chemistry/Bio-technology/Computer Science/Biology. Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in 2022 are also eligible to apply for consideration of provisional admission.
All candidates who are offered provisional admission will be required to produce the proof of having passed the qualifying examination (10+2 examination or equivalent) to the institute latest by the specified deadline, failing which the provisional admission will stand cancelled.
DA-IICT is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) as approved by the AIU at its 84th Annual Meeting held in November 2009.
The National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Government of India has accredited DA-IICT with an ‘A’ Grade in 2017.
The DA-IICT campus houses separate well-furnished hostel rooms for boys and girls.
