Dayanand Anglo-Vedic (DAV) Boys Senior Secondary School, Chennai is a boys’ day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. Promoted in 1970, the school is one among the seven DAV school branches in the city and is managed by the Arya Samaj Educational Society.
The motto of the school is “Lead us from darkness unto light”. It is one of the most sought after schools in Chennai and has achieved laurels not only for academic excellence and dedicated teaching but for the exemplary discipline it has been able to instill among its students. Every year a good number of students of the school are invited to witness the Republic Day parade from the Prime Minister’s Box in honour of their academic excellence.
The DAV Boys Senior Secondary School campus hosts spacious and well equipped classrooms, separate lab facilities for physics, chemistry and biology, two computer science labs and a mathematics lab.
The school offers a fully stocked library featuring books on fiction, science, literature and general knowledge, the library also subscribes to various educational, informative and recreational magazines.
DAV Boys Senior Secondary School offers a sports ground adjacent to the school campus called the GCG (Gopalpuram Cricket Ground), which is used for sport various sports and games.
The school follows the CBSE curriculum from class VI onwards and maintains a teacher student ratio of 1:40. The main subjects offered are science, social science, mathematics, English and a choice of languages from Tamil, Hindi and Sanskrit. Subjects like computer science, third language, electrical gadgets, woodwork and art are compulsory till class VIII. Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) as per CBSE stipulation has been implemented for classes I to X.
Extracurricular: The school actively promotes sports, National Cadet Corps (NCC), and Boy Scouts. The school has the distinction of having had seven nationally top ranked NCC Cadets among its students. Students are offered a one and half hour slot every week for physical training.
In recent years cultural activities have also received a boost and the school regularly participates in various inter school cultural events.

In the Young Talent Programmer Search Examination conducted by CSI (Computer Society of India), DAV Boys Senior Secondary School, Chennai won the first prize for overall participation and a cash prize worth Rs.15000/-. The school also represented Team India on October 30, 2011 at international level competition with other SAARC countries.
The school is ranked among the top 10 boys’ day schools in India by the EducationWorld India School Rankings 2020-21.
