Dayanand Anglo-Vedic (DAV) Public School better known as DAVPS, sited at Sector 8 in Chandigarh, is one of the premiere English medium co-educational schools in the city, originally founded as a nursery school in 1977. It is managed by the DAV College Managing Committee and is named after the principal donor Shri Dev Raj Aggarwal.
The school is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi and offers classes from pre-primary to senior secondary. It aims at “perpetuating the DAV philosophy as propounded by Maharishi Dayanand”.
The school has tied up with the British Council and the University of Cambridge, England for conducting international examinations better known as YLE (Young Learner’s Examination), KET (Key English Testing), PET (Primary English Testing) and FCE (First Certificate for English).

Extracurricular:
The school promotes a host of extracurricular and co-curricular activities such as creative writing, dance, fine arts, painting and sketching, music, art and drama, cookery, origami, soft toys making, elocution, poetry recitation, singing etc. Sports such as table tennis, basketball, lawn-tennis, chess, skating, martial arts and performing arts are also encouraged.
The students are grouped into four houses which compete with each other, thus fostering a spirit of healthy competition among them. Students are also offered educational trips, excursions and adventure trips.

Students from other schools are required to submit the school leaving transfer certificate from the school last attended apart from the report of progress and co-curricular activities. For nursery and KG students, attested photocopy of the original birth certificate needs to be presented at the time of admission.
