Delhi Public School, NTPC, Vidyut Nagar, was established in 1988 by the DPS society in collaboration with NTPC and upholds the motto of the Delhi Public School Society – “Service before Self”. DPS, Vidyut Nagar is an English medium co-educational senior secondary school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi.
The school endeavors to strike a balance between attaining academic excellence and participating in a gamut of co-curricular activities, and aims to channelize the mental abilities and energy of the students towards constructive and creative pursuits.
DPS, NTPC, Vidyut Nagar is sited within the sprawling green township of NTPC, Dadri, and hosts an elegant academic building and beautifully landscaped grounds that are child-friendly and welcoming. The classrooms provide an environment that promotes learning.
The school is equipped with facilities such as a well-stocked library, computer lab and activity room for the pre primary section. The school also offers sports facilities and a modern auditorium. In addition to science labs, the school houses a mathematics lab, social science lab and language lab.
DPS follows the CBSE curriculum and offers schooling from nursery to class XII. The promotion of students from nursery to class IV is granted on the basis of their over-all performance during the academic session. Their performance is tested through continuous assessment by means of weekly assignments, oral tests, etc. Students of class V and above are assessed by means of weekly tests, half-yearly exams and annual exams that are conducted throughout the academic session.
Students are offered different labs to learn about various subjects experientially.
Extracurricular
Students are encouraged to hone their talents in music, dance, public speaking, art, elocution, drama and literary activities. Inter-house competitions are organized in sports, dramatics, debates, quiz, art and music.
Sports activities include taekwondo, cricket, football, basketball, swimming, aerobics, gymnastics, volleyball, badminton, throwball, kho-kho and skating.
The Environment Club, Consumer Club, and other social service initiatives allow students to participate in community service.

Admission to nursery is done on the basis of observation/interaction. For admission to class I and above, an entrance test is conducted and the date of the assessment/interaction is confirmed at the time of registration. The presence of parents is mandatory during the interaction with school authorities.
