In east Delhi’s Gandhi Nagar, a teacher has been formally charged for reportedly making offensive statements about a particular community within the classroom, as confirmed by the police.
Last week, the incident transpired, prompting a subsequent complaint which led to the teacher’s case being registered. A senior police official stated on Monday that an ongoing investigation is being conducted into the matter.
In response to this incident, Anil Kumar Bajpai, the MLA of Gandhi Nagar, expressed his views, emphasizing that a teacher’s foremost responsibility is to provide quality education to students. Bajpai strongly condemned the teacher’s actions, asserting that making disparaging remarks about any religious group or sacred place is entirely unacceptable. He further urged for the arrest of individuals engaged in such behavior.
This occurrence follows closely after a similar event in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, where a video that had gone viral depicted a school teacher instructing her students to physically harm a boy belonging to a minority community. The teacher also made inappropriate comments about the same community.
