Founded in 1948 by the Salesians of Don Bosco, Don Bosco School (DBS) Guwahati is an English medium coeducational day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. The school is managed by the Salesian of Don Bosco on behalf of the Catholic Church primarily for the education of Catholic and under privileged children. The school is reckoned among the leading educational institutions in the north east region of the country. It aims at providing quality education through student centred and activity oriented teaching techniques for the holistic development of every student.
DBS, Guwahati is divided into two blocks – the academic block hosts spacious well-lit classrooms with e-digital learning facilities, a well resourced library for all sections, separate well equipped laboratories for science, computers, mathematics and psychology, a sporting auditorium with a seating capacity of 2000 people and badminton courts. The second block, known as Magone Youth Center accommodates a swimming academy, an auditorium hall, a table tennis hall, lawn tennis court, a gymnasium, a dance hall and a solar park. The school campus also houses a playground, cricket cum football fields with three grass and one concrete pitch for cricket and two basketball courts with roller skating facilities. The school also offers transportation facilities for the convenience and safety of the students.
Affiliated with CBSE, New Delhi, Don Bosco School, Guwahati offers classes from Nursery to class XII. The school follows both summative and formative types of assessments. For the primary section, the school offers the Xseed programme which minimises the use of textbooks and increases student participation in the learning process. The subjects offered at this level are English, mathematics, Hindi/Assamese, environmental science, computer science, general knowledge, computer science, life skill, science and social science. Subjects offered at the senior level are English, physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, Hindi/Assamese, social science, moral science, computer science and environmental science. The school offers science, humanities and commerce streams at the senior secondary level.

On submitting the completed application form, parents are issued an admission folder. This folder is to be duly filled and brought at the time of the interaction. A sum of Rs. 500 needs to be paid towards application form fee.
Students applying for class KG should fulfil the following conditions:
(a) The child should have completed 4 years of age as on April 1 of the year in which admission is sought.
(b) The child should have passed Nursery class.
