Established in 1990, Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management Catering and Nutrition (DAIHMCN), Chandigarh took off in a Government Sarai Building at Sector 32-A, which was provided by the Union Territory Administration, Chandigarh. DAIHMCN is affiliated with NCHMCT (National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology). It aims to train young promising men and women to provide manpower for the hospitality industry.
DAIHMCN campus hosts a laundry lab with heavy in house laundry machines, fully equipped kitchen with modern facilities, well equipped computer laband well stocked library.
DAIHMCN offers the following courses - 1. The B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration - It is a three year course and is offered by National Council for Hotel Management and the Indira Gandhi National Open University. 2. For B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration - The admission to Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Hospitality Management and Hotel Administration is conducted by the National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT), Noida, through Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) on “All India Level“. The examination is conducted in the month of April every year. Minimum qualification for admission is a pass certificate in the 10+2 final examination or its equivalent. Those appearing in 10+2 final or equivalent examination can also appear in JEE for being considered on provisional basis. Fees – Annual tuition feeis approximately Rs 70,000.
