DSU launches PG Computer Science programmes in association with IBM

According to an official release on July 27, Bengaluru based Dayanand Sagar University has collaborated with technology giant IBM (NYSE: IBM) to launch three new post graduate programmes under the Faculty of Computer Science Engineering  with specialisation in Cloud Computing, Big Data & Analytics and Internet of Things (IoT).
Under this collaboration and in line with IBM Education programme, the organisation will set up IBM Software Lab for Emerging Technologies at the institute’s Bengaluru campus that will help students and faculty members master advanced Information Technology (IT) skills needed for 21st century workplace.

Speaking about the collaboration, Dr. D Premachandra Sagar, pro chancellor, Dayananda Sagar University said,“DSU is an institute with a dedicated focus around technologies and practices that drive innovation. Our partnership with IBM provides our students in-depth skills in emerging technologies and enables them to explore global opportunities. The specialisations in the area of Big Data, Cloud Computing and IoT will ensure that industry gets highly skilled talent to accelerate innovation across domains.”

In addition, IBM will help develop an innovative curriculum for the programmes that will be jointly delivered by IBM subject matter experts from its software labs and university faculty. Relevant IBM software and curriculum content will be available to the faculty members and students in the lab to earn credits towards their degrees, and classes will be conducted by IBM experts. A joint committee is also being setup between the university and IBM that will continuously recommend on course curriculum, content and delivery.
