CIPU Education summit
Hyderabad, May 2. At a two-day Bharat Higher Education Summit 2025 hosted by Mahindra University (Internal Quality Assurance Cell) and organised by the Confederation of Indian Private Universities (CIPU), education leaders highlighted that India’s education system must aim to be ranked among the world’s best by creating a research-based interdisciplinary academic ecosystem.
“Private universities will play a crucial role in achieving a 50 percent Gross Enrolment Ratio by 2035,” said Prof. (Dr.) T.G. Sitharam, Chairman of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) inaugurating the summit.
To discuss the summit theme of ‘Building Next Generation Leaders in Higher Education’, over 150 Vice Chancellors and academic leaders from across the country participated.
“As private universities continue to emerge and contribute significantly to the educational landscape, there is a clear need for a unified platform like Confederation of Indian Private Universities (CIPU). Such a body can champion the interests of private institutions, address shared challenges, and ensure that research, quality, innovation, and inclusivity remain at the heart of India’s higher education,” said Dr. Rahul Karad, Chief Patron, CIPU and Executive President, MIT-World Peace University, Pune.
