Following the resounding success of previous years, Gurgaon based School of Engineering, G D Goenka University hosted RED SET 2016 Conference – India’s leading conference on recent developments in Science, Engineering and Technology – on October 21 and 22. The international conference, now in its third year, was themed on “Innovations on Computational Intelligence” with Springer as the chief publication partner. The conference was held in association with Computer Society of India, Institute of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering and University of Arkansas, USA. 562 papers were received from 11 countries including India, Japan, Canada, USA etc. Selections were based on originality of idea, innovation and relevance to the conference theme and relation to the latest trends in respective domains. 42 percent papers were selected after undergoing a proper peer-review channel following international standards.
RED SET 2016 featured two keynote addresses – one by Palash Jain (CEO-Infolona, ex-Google director, ex-Sapient director) and the other by Jeevan Talegaonkar (general manager, Ericsson). There will be 27 sessions with each session being chaired by eminent personalities from industry and academia.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor (Dr.) Deependra Kumar Jha, vice chancellor, G D Goenka University said, “Promotion of inquiry based education has been the core competence of the School of Engineering at GD Goenka University since its inception and present conference is yet another step forward. We aim to promote the interdisciplinary nature of scientific enquiry, which leads to engineering efforts to develop scientific and technologically innovative solutions to benefit society as a whole.”
