November 19, 2020

The first edition of the Get Set Parent with Pallavi Children’s Literature, Art & Music Festival in association with Vishwarang is being organized by Get Set Parent with Pallavi, which is one of the fastest growing parenting YouTube channels in India. The event will be held from 22nd to 29th November as part of Vishwarang 2020, the second edition of the unique literature, art and music festival in India that focuses on art and literature not only in English but in Hindi and regional languages as well.

Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event will be hosted online for two hours every day on Get Set Parent with Pallavi YouTube channel. The Festival is targeted towards kids in the age group of 4-12 years and registrations for the Festival will be free of cost. The week-long fun-filled carnival for children will open with an interactive session with Ruskin Bond, who is one of India’s most loved children’s writers. Moreover, bestselling Indian mythological fiction writer Anand Neelakantan will be interacting with the audience during the closing session on the last day of the event.

Speaking about the upcoming Festival, Dr Pallavi Rao Chaturvedi, the Founder of Get Set Parent & the Director of Vishwarang Children’s Literature, Art and Music Festival, said, “Most people across the world have been confined to their homes for over 8 months now due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The lockdown period has been especially tough for children, who are always inquisitive, have an active imagination and are eager to go out and explore everything around them. This sheer curiosity is what we want to celebrate through this online festival during the World Children’s Day week. This week-long event will open a window of opportunity to kids and they will get to learn a variety of art forms as well as interact with their favourite authors while sitting safely in the comfort of their homes.”

Veteran writer-illustrator Ashok Rajagopalan, who is the creator of hilarious children’s book series ‘Gajapati Kulapati’; Nandini Nayar, who is the award-winning author of over fifty books for children of all ages; actor and storyteller Janaki Sabesh; and  Bangalore-based international academy of storytelling ‘Kathalaya’ will host storytelling sessions during the Festival. Priya Narayanan, whose book ‘Friend of Numbers’ is the winner of the Neev Book Award 2020 in the ‘Emerging Reader’ category, will also be interacting with the audience in one of the sessions.

The other major highlights of Get Set Parent with Pallavi Children’s Literature, Art & Music Festival in association with Vishwarang 2020 will be Claude Monet Painting Workshop and Gond Art Workshop by Akanksha Goenka of art advisory and appreciation company ‘Artlinks’, Warli Art and Madhubani Art Workshops by Arty Bits’ Founder and art tutor Salomi Parekh, Doodle Workshop on making your own story book by Singapore-based, Kirkus Best Prize nominated illustrator and graphic novelist Debasmita Dasgupta as well as Theatre Workshop by Helen O’Grady International, which is the world’s largest after-school developmental drama programme.
