Getting kids to eat healthy – Part 1

One of the biggest challenges of #parenting is getting your child to eat healthy. So how do we get our kids to eat healthy by cutting down junk food?Junk food gives kids pleasure and fills their tummy but countless studies have proved that it is responsible for childhood obesity, lethargy, cravings for more salt and sugar laden food, ADHD and early onset of adolescence. Sushant Kalra, founder, Parwarish – Workshops for Parents, Teachers and Children suggests to begin with, reduce your kids' intake of junk food that negatively impacts their physical, mental and emotional health. Don't allow your kids to indulge in junk food more than once or twice a week. If they refuse to eat the healthy meal that you've served them on the table, don't give them other options. Let the food stay there and when they realise you aren't going to give in, they will most likely eat it later. So the first thumbrule is 'Don't Give Them Options'. #Joyfulparenting
