Gingerbread cake

(9-10 servings)


 1 large egg, room temperature, beaten
 1/2 cup sugar
 1/2 cup brown sugar
 5 tbsp melted butter
 2/3 cup cold water
 1-1/2 cups white flour
 1 tsp baking soda
 1 tsp ground ginger
 1/2 tsp salt
 3 tbsp whipped cream

Preparation guide

 Add egg, sugar, brown sugar, butter and water in a bowl and mix well.
 In another large bowl, stir flour, baking soda, ginger and salt together
 Add the two mixtures and beat until well mixed
 Pour into a greased 8-inch square baking pan. Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes.
 Cut into squares; serve warm with whipped cream.
