GSIS appoints Vinod Singh as new Head of School

June 27, 2025

Good Shepherd International School (GSIS), Ooty — India’s top-ranked international school — has recently appointed Vinod Singh as its new Head of School and Principal. With more than 30 years of experience in education, Singh is a passionate teacher and open-minded administrator who believes in nurturing leadership within the organisation—among both staff and students—to promote stability and long-term sustainability. He thrives in multicultural school environments, where both teachers and learners come from diverse backgrounds.

Singh holds two master’s degrees in Computer Science and a degree in education. He has extensive teaching and leadership experience across the IB, CISCE, and CBSE curricula, and has been instrumental in planning and establishing IB programmes in several schools across India and abroad.

He has held senior roles at prestigious institutions including Welham Boys’ School and Indus International School in India, as well as leadership positions in schools in Bali and Bangalore. A committed International Baccalaureate (IB) educator, Singh is actively involved with the IB Educator Network (IBEN), serving as an evaluator, workshop leader, and programme support professional. He has conducted numerous IB workshops and is a regular participant at IB Asia Pacific Regional and IB World Heads Conferences.

Having already spent several months working closely with the GSIS leadership team, Singh brings a clear, forward-looking vision to his role. The school community is confident that his global outlook, collaborative spirit, and values-driven approach will further enrich the GSIS experience.
