Founded in 1969, Guru Nanak Fifth Centenary (GNFC) School, Mussoorie is a co-educational English medium residential school affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi. The school boasts 480 students and 50 full time teachers. It follows a teacher student ratio of 1:9.
The 80.4 acre GNFC campus hosts 40 modern classrooms, a computer room with 50 computers, 10 laboratories for different subjects, two auditoriums with seating capacity of 350 each and eight IT enabled classrooms. The school library features 20,000 books on diverse disciplines.
Sports facilities include cricket ground, basket ball court, football ground, badminton court, billiards table, lawn tennis court, gymnasium and skating rink.
Affiliated with CISCE, New Delhi, GNFC offers schooling from Kindergarten through class XII. The academic session, which commences in March, is comprised of two terms. The first term closes at the end of June while the second term runs from July through November with a break of two weeks in between. Vocational training is an integral part of the school curriculum.
Besides academics, students are encouraged to engage in a host of sports such as cricket, basket ball, billiards, lawn tennis, badminton, table tennis, gym and skating.
Application process for admissions begins in December and closes in March. Admission to the school is open to all, irrespective of caste, creed or religion.Applications are usually accepted for children seeking entry into KG to class IX. The minimum age for admission to the school is 4 years plus.
