Gyan Ganga International School Organized its 18th Annual Athletic Meet

Gyan Ganga International School inaugurated its 18th Annual Athletic Meet at Sports Complex in a grand manner on Saturday 03 November 2018.

The meet was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Hon’ble D.C. Jain ‘Chairman of Gyan Ganga of Institutions’, Executive Director Dr. Nitin Jain, Director Shri Rajneet Jain various luminaries who all presided over the function and fortified the occasion by their gracious presence.

Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar Chandel conveyed the welcome speech and accorded a warm welcome to all the dignitaries. He also encouraged the participants and urged the athletes to participate with full sportsmanship and with a true zeal of team work.

Chief Guest Shri D.C. Jain, with other luminaries inaugurated the function by unfurling the flag which was followed by the vibrant and energetic March Past by all the four houses, students of scout and guides and the exotic school band. The Annual Athletic Meet 2018 was declared open by the Chief Guest as he released the multicolour balloons with signified the mark of integrity and the & quality of a team work. Forgoing the programme was headed by the lightning of the traditional school torch which was handed over to the sports captain Sudhanshu Pradhan and Neha Singh Thakur by the Chief Guest Shri D.C. Jain. Sports captain and other council members took an oath in which the promise of maintaining and keeping the true sportsmanship was taken by them and the participants.

Following events took place on the very first day of the meet and the winners were:

100 M Junior Boys –Sourabh Sahu bagged 1st position, Sumit Beohar and Kartik Patel stood 2nd and 3rd position. 100 M Junior Girls – Palak Vanhkar secured the 1st position where as Shivani Sahu Palak Chandni Mishra 2nd & 3rd. Long Jump Junior Boys Saurabh Sahu secured the 1st position where as Kartik Patel and Abhinav Pandey secured 2nd & 3rd position. Long Jump Senior Boys Animesh Jain secured the 1st position where as Gaurav Singh and Deepanshu Gupta secured 2nd & 3rd position. Long Jump Senior Girls Khushi Singh Rajput secured the 1st position where as Rimjhim Singh and Anushka Sharma secured 2nd & 3rd position. Shot-put Senior Boys Sudhanshu Pradhan secured the 1st position where as Aditya Singh and Anubhav Rawat secured 2nd & 3rd position. Shot-put Senior Girls Rimjhim Singh secured the 1st position where as Bhavika Sahu and Rishita Maravi secured 2nd & 3rd position. Discus Throw Senior Boys Anubhav Rawat secured the 1st position where as Aditya Singh and Deepak Gulhani secured 2nd & 3rd position. Discus Throw Senior Girls Astha Kharya secured the 1st position where as Astha Gupta and Riya Jain secured 2nd & 3rd position. Javelin Throw Senior Boys Vipin Thakur secured the 1st position where as Aditya Singh and Harshwardhan Singh secured 2nd & 3rd position.

In the same sequence following races took place for Pre-primary and Primary Section and winners were – Happy Feet Race in which Anurag Tiwari secured 1st position, Kunal Lodhi & Arohi Yadav for 2nd & 3rd position. Bursting the Balloon Race – Mansi Singh bagged up the 1st position where as Prateek Tiwari & Lavanya secured 2nd & 3rd position. Funny Bunny Carrot Race – Sarthak Dixit bagged up the 1st position where as Shikha Dwivedi & Jiya secured 2nd & 3rd position. Penguin Race – Tarunika Patel bagged up the 1st position where as Varuni Shukla & Arohi Yadav secured 2nd & 3rd position. Worm Race – Prakrati Garwal bagged up the 1st position where as Janhvi Bhangre & Shreya Soni secured 2nd & 3rd position. Tiger Race – Anurag Tiwari bagged up the 1st position where as Varuni Shukla & Devraj Chouhan secured 2nd & 3rd position. Kangaroo Race – Ashutosh Koshta bagged up the 1st position where as Atharva Kumar & Parth Jain secured 2nd & 3rd position. Jelly Fish Race – Atharv Kumar bagged up the 1st position where as Yuvraj Lodhi & Ashutosh koshta secured 2nd & 3rd position. Flat Race –Anshika Sahu bagged up the 1st position where as Anay Ranjan & Rajveer Singh secured 2nd & 3rd position. Going to Market Race –Sach Chourasiya bagged up the 1st position where as Varuni  & Deeksha secured 2nd & 3rd position. The main attraction of the day was Tug of wars between different House Teachers In which Satya House bagged up first position where as Shanti House and Karma House secured 2nd & 3rd position. The winners were awarded prizes and certificates.

School Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar Chandel congratulated and expressed his appreciation to the sports official Mr. Nitendra Thakur, Basim Khan, Himansh Singh, Ravina Patel and Sunil Patel to make event success.
