Harcourt Butler Technological Institute (HBTI) Kanpur was set up as ‘Government Research Institute Cawnpore’ in 1921. It is an autonomous academic institution and one of the oldest engineering colleges in India. Located on two campuses, it is affiliated with Uttar Pradesh Technical University or UPTU, Lucknow. Accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), HBTI offers 13 undergraduate B.Tech. programmes, besides M.Tech and MCA programmes. The faculty of HBTI have contributed 350 research papers and 80 presentations in Indian as well as international journals.
