A derogatory poster on Hinduism, allegedly on display at one of the events at Azim Premji University has gone viral, drawing severe criticism from several social media users.

In the photograph that has gone viral, the poster designed by Priyanka Paul, one of the students of the varsity is seen at the backdrop of an event. The podium used for the event where this was on display carries a banner of Azim Premji University. It reads: “Annihilating Hinduism”. On the poster is BR Ambedkar, with a copy of Manusmriti that has been set ablaze.

Paul, whose Instagram handle @artwhoring has been at a receiving end of social media criticism also hosts several other posters depicting hindu gods and goddesses in a derogatory manner.

A glimpse of this poster was shared by a social media user whose profile goes by the name MccAndlES cHris and garnered responses of over 500 users and likes of over 10,000 on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

Soon, other users supplemented the post with conversations on Paul which have been shared on other platforms in the recent past.

Among the other posters are that of a girl donning a crop top of goddess Kali while displaying a pierced tongue. In the other is a poster of Godess Kali with a chopped head of former American President Donald Trump.

Some social media users on Twitter also shared previous news about anti-Hinduism incidents at the varsity, seeking intervention from BJP and prime minister Narendra Modi in this regard.  “@narendramodi @BJP4India needs to take note of this Hinduphobia Azim Premji University,” a user wrote.

Meanwhile, Rajeev Rajput a X user said, “Aziz (sic) Premji University is another JNU in making”

While not refering to the post in question, the official hanle of Azim Premji Univerity denied the same. “We are aware of a false and malicious post on X aimed at tarnishing the reputation of Azim Premji University. The University has never held any lecture by the title claimed in the post. The post is a deliberate misrepresentation to sully the reputation of the University.” However, when EducationWorld asked the varsity about the poster in particular, they refused to issue a statement in this regard.
