Hutchings High School, Pune is an English medium coeducational day school founded by Miss Emily Hutchings in 1879. Set up as a part of the Methodist Episcopal Church, the school was initially christened as Methodist High school. The school started with 25 unprivileged girls funded by the Methodist Church. Hutchings High School is a unit of the Bombay Regional Conference of the Methodist Church in India and is affiliated with the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi.

Pupils who have attended other schools cannot be admitted without a Leaving Certificate from the school last attended. Students seeking admission for class I and above must submit a Transfer Certificate.
Students seeking admission from states other than Maharashtra must submit a Transfer Certificate counter signed by the educational authority of the state in which the school is located.
