Overview

The Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management (IIITM), Gwalior was established by the government of India in 1997 as a part of a series of IIITs, to foster higher education in Information Technology. IIITM was declared as a Deemed University in 2001 and recognised as an Institute of National Importance. The institute was prefixed with ABV in 2002 to honour the then Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee. The university’s mission is to pursue teaching and research with focus on emerging technologies, business process and high-tech solutions in low-tech environment; integrating technologies and management in cross-cultural environments.

Admission

Integrated PG Programmes BTech and MTech (Information Technology) BTech (Information Technology) and MBA Admission is through JEE (Mains) followed by CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board) counseling. Postgraduate Programmes MTech in Computer Science and Engineering Admission to this course is through CCMT (Centralised Counselling for M. Tech based on GATE score. MBA Admission to this course is through written examination (CAT), group discussion and interview. Achievement

IIITM boasts industrial associations with various Indian industries as well as collaboration with international institutes like Institute of Quantum information Science, University of Calgary; National University, Korea; Mc Master University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada; Institute of Information Technology, Ottawa, Canada and University of Montreal, Canada.

Accommodation

The campus hosts three boys’ hostels with accommodation for 313 students, 311 students and 256 students in each of them, while the girls hostel accommodates 150 students. Every student has a well appointed single well ventilated room with internet accessibility. The bathrooms are fitted with geysers for supplying hot water. Doctoral candidates with families are allotted separate quarters within the campus subject to availability. Each hostel is provided with a mess, reading room, badminton court and table tennis board for recreation of boarders.
