IIM Lucknow announces Radhakrishnan Gopalan Young Faculty Researcher award

The Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow has instituted the Radhakrishnan Gopalan Young Faculty Researcher endowment,following an initiative of the Class of 1996, to encourage young  researchers. The new endowment has an initial corpus of  Rs 75 lakhs,  an annual award value of Rs 7,00,000 and a tenure of eleven years according to the formal announcement received here.
 
Established in 1984 in a city fabled  for its cultural heritage, the IIM is situated on a sprawling campus spread over more than 190 acres. It is the fourth in the IIM family of management schools to be established in India after IIM Calcutta, IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore. 
 
In 2005, IIM Lucknow became the first IIM to set up a satellite campus exclusively for Executive Education at NOIDA in the Delhi NCR region.
 
Announcing the award at a function,  IIM Dean Faculty, Professor Ajay Garg shared details of the initiative. Director, Professor Archana Shukla expressed gratitude to  friends of the  late Radhakrishnan Gopalan and his brother Jay Gopalan, as well as the batch of 1996, some of whom were present at the event while  other alumni joined online including Nithya Easwaran, a member of the Board of Governors at IIM  and Vijay Yerramilli, co-author and a Professor of Finance in Houston, USA who shared  insights and perspectives.
 
The  award will be granted annually to a deserving faculty member who meets specific eligibility criteria and whose   name will be announced on the 25th of September every year which happens to be the birthday of the Late  Radhakrishnan Gopalan.
 
IIM Lucknow is accredited by AACSB and AMBA and consistently ranked among  top business schools in the NIRF Rankings. IIM Lucknow was the first IIM to start a 2-year full time MBA program in Sustainable Management 8 years ago.
 
Institutions  for excellence housed in IIM Lucknow such as the Centre for Public Policy, the Centre for Food and Agribusiness Management, the Centre for Business Sustainability, and the Centre for Marketing in Emerging Economies, regularly carry out evidence-based research and interventions in public policy and management practice. IIM Lucknow faculty also feature in the top 2% of global scientists for research output and impact.
