Indus Early Learning Centre, Adyar, Chennai was started in August 2012 by the Indus Trust as a feeder school to the main schools of Indus Trust and caters to early years education for children below the age of 6 years.
The preschool follows an international curriculum which is relevant, challenging, engaging and meaningful and caters to the developmental needs and expectations of the young. The preschool’s mission is "To create thoughtful leaders through holistic education and lifelong learning."
The preschool’s campus facilities include well-equipped classrooms with ICT facilities, library, performing arts studio, fine arts studio and indoor area. The outdoor play area has play equipment, jungle gym, sand pit and swimming pool.
The preschool’s curriculum is play-based and nature-oriented for children to experience learning and work as fun. it’s the curriculum is engaging, exciting, challenging and relevant to children and is organised into five areas of learning:
Language Development: includes basics of oral communication, speaking and listening, reading and comprehending simple texts and encouraging writing skills.
Numeracy: helps to develop skills in logical operations like counting, sorting, matching, creating patterns, problem-solving and working with shapes and measures for a strong mathematical foundation in practical tasks, stories, songs, games and imaginative plays.
Science and social studies (Inquiry units): children are exposed to a whole range of sights and sounds to develop crucial knowledge, skills and understanding to make sense of the world around them and learn from life itself.
Personal, social and physical education: for all-round development of chidlren’s personal, social, emotional and physical selves.
Creative arts: encourages children to indulge in and appreciate different forms of creative expressions like art, music, dance and role play.

The Indus Early Years Program emphasises on trans-disciplinary education through an inquiry-based approach to learning and encourages children to ask questions, plan investigations, explore various outcomes and reach credible and logical conclusions, with teachers as facilitators.
