Indus Institute migrates to Bangalore

The Indus Institute of Advanced Culinary Arts and Hotel Management (est.1998) has migrated its headquarters from Gurgaon (Haryana) to Bangalore. Indus Institute (a division of Indus Hospitality Consulting Pvt. Ltd, Mumbai) claims it is the first and only school offering highly specialised study courses in continental cuisine, designed to fulfill the growing needs of the international leisure cruises industry. The institute offers one-three month intensive, practical learning programmes designed by Carnival Cruise Lines, the world’s largest leisure cruises company. The course is structured to enhance the skills of working professionals with exposure to continental cuisine and fine dining, to meet the requirements of leisure cruise companies. “In this fast growth sector within the hospitality industry, cruise line jobs are highly prized because of earnings in tax-free dollars, free board and lodging, and ample opportunities for growth with frequent assessment and swift promotions for the deserving. Dina Institute open for admissions The Dina Institute of Hotel & Business Management, Pune invites admission applications for new batches in June/ July 2004 on a first-come-first admit basis. The institute offers two 30 month diploma programmes — the Dina diploma in hotel management and the dual diploma in hotel and business administration in collaboration with EI-AHLA, USA accredited by Middlesex University, London. The former is open to class XII school leavers while the latter is a postgraduate programme. “We also conduct individual aptitude tests and interviews for students as and when they come for enquiries and registration. Border Gavaskar Masters scholarship The Brisbane (Australia) based Griffith University has announced its new Border Gavaskar Masters Scholarship for Indian students. This high level academic scholarship will be awarded to an India resident — male or female — who demonstrates academic excellence and who will contribute to providing long-term benefits to the Indian community as a result of his/ her study at Griffith University. “The Border Gavaskar Masters Scholarship honours the two highest Test cricket run scorers of all time, and like Allan Border and Sunil Gavaskar, the scholarship will be awarded to an individual who best exemplifies the spirit of endeavour and excellence in what he/ she sets out to achieve,” says Emily Haralampou, a spokesperson of Griffith International, a division of Griffith University (est.1971) which has an enrollment of 24,000 students from over 74 countries. The scholarship will be offered every time Australia and India compete for the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
