Overview

Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Ahmedabad was promoted as Food Craft Institute in 1972 by the Government of India and Government of Gujarat. The Ministry of Tourism (G.O.I.) upgraded the institute to the Institute of Hotel Management, Catering and Nutrition in the year 1984. It is affiliated with the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT). . The institute campus sprawls over 6 acres hosting world class facilities for the students. The institute hosts various activities such as food festivals, chef competitions, educational tours, and fairs, every year to inculcate professionalism in students and staffs.

Campus

IHMA sprawls over 6 acres hosting world class facilities for the students such as spacious classrooms fully equipped with state of the art teaching aids, well-equipped labs, well-stocked and air-conditioned library. Training facilities includes specialized training kitchens, restaurants, bakery and confectionery labs, housekeeping lab, training guest room facilities, front office lab, computer lab with latest technology and audio-visual facilities.

General Information

Admission

Bachelor’s Degree in Science in Hospitality and Hotel Administration Admission procedure: Minimum qualification for admission is a pass in the 10+2 Senior Secondary examination or its equivalent with English as one of the compulsory subjects. Those appearing in 10+2 or equivalent examination can also appear in JEE 2011 on provisional basis. Provisional admissions will stand cancelled if proof of having passed the qualifying examination (10+2 or its equivalent) is not submitted at the time of counseling or at the time of admission. Admissions will be subject to verification of facts from the original certificates/ documents to be produced by the candidates at the time of counseling and at the time of admission. Even after admission, if an applicant is at a later date found ineligible on account of having submitted false information or testimonials or for having suppressed any material information, his/her admission will be cancelled and the fee paid will also be forfeited. Decision of National Council in this regard shall be final. Accommodation

Limited hostel accommodation is available for boys and 100 percent hostel accommodation is available for girls separately in IHM-A hostels.
