Overview

Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Gwalior was founded as “Food Craft Institute” in 1987, and later upgraded to Institute of Hotel Management in 1992. Affiliated with NCHMCT, New Delhi, it aims to provide the right environment and training to aspiring hoteliers who would be able to measure up to the exacting and ever rising standards of the hospitality industry in India and abroad. Sprawling over 14 acres of landscaped greenery, the institute hosts best in class infrastructure for the students. It seeks to impart the best knowledge and skills to students and to cater to the workforce requirement of the hospitality industry.

Campus

IHM, Gwalior sprawls across 14 acres hosting well furnished classrooms and modern facilities for the students. The institute hosts a food production lab which provides Basic Training kitchen knowledge on cookery, quantity training kitchen; Advance Training kitchen deals with international cuisine such as French, Oriental Chinese, Thai, Italy, Germany, Spain, Greece, Mexicana and Mediterranean, and Craft Kitchen for basic culinary skills for commercial food production. The institute hosts a well equipped bakery, besides a front office department responsible for the renting out of hotel rooms through systematic methods of reservation followed by registration process and assigning rooms to clients. The fully air-conditioned state of the art central computer centre is equipped with 35 latest PCs and licensed software, and can accommodate at least 25 students at a time. The institute houses a well stocked library equipped with state of the art audio visual facilities. An auditorium with a seating capacity of 170 persons is equipped with PA system and spotlights. It is extensively used for institute functions and visiting guest speakers, and campus placement presentations.
