ITM University (Institute of Technology and Management) was promoted in 1992 by Educate India Society, registered under the Registration of Societies Act of 1860, as an engineering institute to impart high quality technical and management education. Situated in Gurgaon, Haryana, ITM is an autonomous university, having gained the status of a private university in the academic year 2009-2010. It was later rechristened as ITM University.
ITM hosts a 10-acre campus in Gurgaon, Haryana, sited at about 10 km from Indira Gandhi International Airport. Having a balanced infrastructure with adequate greenery and concrete, the design of ITM has been conceptualized by the Group for Rural and Urban Planning. The University has a well-stocked library that caters to the industrial community and research scholars along with its students. The library boasts of more than 50,000 books, with continuous addition of new texts and material according to fresh courses and programs. The online access facility to international journals like IEEE, (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) and Science Direct is also available. It has well-ventilated classrooms, hi-tech computer labs with 900 computers, virtual labs, LCD projectors, and a digital and multimedia library. The university has five hostels for girls and one hostel for boys close to the campus. Hostels have necessary facilities in place, with well-furnished rooms and Wi-Fi connectivity.
ITM focuses on holistic education, with equal emphasis on theory as well as practical aspects of engineering. There are specialized courses in technical domains as well in soft skills, humanities and social sciences that aim at producing professionals for the industry ahead. All syllabi at ITM are formulated according to the best available schemes and compare well with the IITs, NITs, and other leading institutes. The undergraduate B.Tech program at the university is a four- year program, with 8 semesters. The courses offered in B. Tech are: Computer Science &Engg. Electronics &Comm. Engg. Mechanical Engineering Information Technology Civil Engineering Electrical & Electronics Engg. The postgraduate M.Tech program is of 2-year duration for the full time course and of 3-year duration for the part-time course. Postgraduate M.Tech programs offered at ITM are: Computer Science & Engineering Software Engineering Electronics and Communication Engineering VLSI Design Embedded Systems Mechanical Engineering Civil Engineering Extra-Curricular Activities ITM Gurgaon offers a range of activities to offer in sports and culture. The sporting facilities on campus include cricket, hockey, soccer, volleyball, badminton, tennis and table tennis. An athletics track is maintained, along with an all-purpose sports arena. The campus boasts a flood-lit stadium and has recently constructed tennis, squash and basketball courts. Regular lectures, films, musical and cultural events are organized for the students. There are a number of student societies, like the Literary Society, Music Society, Drama and Dance Society, Photography Club, Social Service Society, Professional Societies, Sports Society and Self Development Groups that offer varied learning and leisure activities.
Admission to the B.Tech engineering program requires a valid score at the AIEEE entrance examination. The applicant should have passed the 10+2 (English Medium) examination conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or equivalent examination from a recognized board in Science stream with an overall aggregate of at least 60 percent. For the Postgraduate M.Tech program at the University, candidates with a valid GATE score in the respective branches of engineering are given preference in comparison to non-GATE candidates. In other cases, the admission to M.Tech program will be made on merit in the qualifying examination. Fees B.Tech fees amount to about Rs. 95,750/- per semester and M.Tech students have a fee of about Rs 64,000 per semester. The hostel fees are Rs 35,000 per semester.
ITM Gurgaon is NIIT’s Centre for Research in Cognitive Systems. First-class honors graduates of ITM are eligible for entry to the University of Leeds for its one year, full-time M. Sc. Programs in the Schools of Mechanical Engineering, Electronic and Electric Engineering and Computer Studies. The University of Leeds has, in fact, reserved five seats per year in each of the mentioned courses for ITM students. Placements: ITM Gurgaon has an active training and placement cell. Hands-on training is available for students in conventional and advanced techniques.
