Overview

Founded in 2003, The Jain International School (TJIS), Kanpur is a co-educational English medium day-cum-boarding school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. TJIS Kanpur operates under the aegis of Shrinathji Education and Cultural Trust.

The school aims at inculcating traditional values and virtues of the Indian culture in every child. TJIS focuses not only on academics but also on providing opportunity to each child to explore his or her own capabilities and areas of interest.

Campus

TJIS campus hosts spacious, well-ventilated classrooms, well-equipped separate laboratories (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and web-source centre), two well-stocked libraries featuring a wide collection of novels, biographies, fiction, as well as books on varied subject areas including general awareness, philosophy, ethics, language learning, personality development, religion, history, art and craft, cookery, sports, computers, science and other academic disciplines.

Sports facilities include swimming pool, basketball courts, cricket nets and ground, football ground, hockey ground, handball ground, volleyball court and lawn tennis block.

Other facilities include dining and kitchen, and infirmaryfully equipped with medical facilities.

Academics

Affiliated with CBSE, TJIS offers schooling from primary level through class XII.

The entire academic session is divided in two terms:

1. The firstterm runs from April to September and comprises two Formative Assessments (FA) – FA-I and FA-II, and First Summative Assessment (SA-I).

The CCE pattern aims at all-round development of the child.

2. The second term runs from October to March and comprises two FAs- FA-III and FA-IV, and Second Summative Assessment (SA-2). Besides this, pre-boards are conducted for the children who are writing board exams.

Extra-curricular activities:

The school encourages students to participate in various sporting and non-sporting activities such as basketball, football, cricket, table-tennis, judo, volleyball, rugby and taekwondo, dance, drama, art and Model United Nations participation.

Admission

For admission in class II to class XII, the student should have passed the preceding class. Transfer certificate, photocopy of report card of last two years are to be attached with the application form along with a copy of the birth certificate.

Filing and submitting of application form does not guarantee admission to the school.

The decision of the school authorities is final and binding.
