Jamia Millia to conduct exams through open-book method

December 31, 2020

Jamia Millia Islamia will be conducting the semester exams through the open-book method in mid-January. A mock test will also be conducted before the final date sheet is out.

Earlier it had decided to conduct the semester exams in a proctored manner by asking students to only use laptops and PCs but received criticism for the same.

Jamia vice-chancellor Najma Akhtar said she would write to the UGC and request them for suggestions regarding their plan of action.

The Jamia AC also decided that the individual scores of students will be uploaded online. The decision came following accusations of lack of transparency in the admission process from the AISA unit of the varsity.

Jamia’s Executive Council will meet on December 31 to discuss the details of the open book exam method. The VC had earlier said that the varsity was also studying the method employed by Delhi University.
