Jesus and Mary College (JMC) is a women’s college affiliated to Delhi University. The college was founded by Religious Society of Jesus and Mary, a Roman Catholic congregation founded by St. Claudine Thevenet in Lyon, France in 1818. The Convent of Jesus and Mary, Delhi was established in 1919, and the college for women was founded in July 1968 with one department offering English (Honors) and B.A (Pass) courses to 116 students.
It is one of the few colleges in Delhi University, whose student body is not affiliated to the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU).
Jesus and Mary College offers state-of-the-art academic and co-curricular facilities to its students. Campus infrastructure includes an amphitheatre used for cultural activities, an auditorium with a seating capacity of 600, also serving as a venue for indoor games like judo, badminton and table tennis, a cafeteria, a common room, a chapel and convent and an indoor and outdoor gymnasium with modern equipment. The College Library is spread over three floors and the size of campus is 14 acres providing access to a wide range of international and national journals, magazines, daily newspapers and books, growing digital media collections and other printed materials to support research and learning. It is fully air-conditioned and computerised, wi-fi enabled and has a seating capacity of 220 users. The library also has a research & audio-visual room, a counselling-cell and an e-resource centre enabling students to access desired information for their academic pursuits through internet and e-resources. Reading rooms are available for both faculty and students on the ground and first floors.
The College also has well equipped laboratories for Psychology, B.El.Ed., B.Voc. and Computer for course related practical work. The campus also houses three well-equipped seminar rooms with robust infrastructure inclusive of projectors and Wi-Fi connection. There is also a hall on the fourth floor of the academic block with a seating capacity of 100 available for academic and cultural events.
The sports infrastructure of the college includes fields and courts for basketball, volleyball, badminton, cricket, tennis and netball. Indoor halls are provided for combative sports, badminton and table tennis.

The admission to the college is based on a competitive cut-off percentage in senior secondary exams. The college also reserves a certain number of seats for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) candidates. As a minority institution, the college also has a 50% reservation for Catholic or other Christian students.
