Established in 2007, Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Bhubaneswar is affiliated with the KIIT University founded by Dr. Achyuta Samanta. KIMS offers MBBS course at the undergraduate level and MD course at postgraduate level. The courses are approved by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India and the Medical Council of India (MCI).
KIMS’s campus sprawls over 60 acres hosting air-conditioned classrooms equipped with LCD projectors, laboratories, computer lab, an auditorium and a fully air-conditioned convention center with seating capacity of 1500. The central library features 1184 titles of reference and textbooks with more than 150 journals.
Affiliated with the KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, KIMS offers 4.5 year MBBS course at the undergraduate level and 3 year MD course at postgraduate level. Sports such as rugby, basketball, lawn tennis, hockey, multygym, billiards, table tennis, badminton, chess and carom are promoted by the institute.
Eligibility criteria: For General Category - Candidates should have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with at least 50 percent marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together. For SC/ST Candidates - Candidates should have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with at least 40 percent marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together. Age: Lower age limit is 17 years as on December 31 of the year of admission and upper age limit is 25 years. The upper age limit may be relaxed by five year for SC/ST candidates. Admission Procedure: Admission is purely on merit on the basis of KIITEE, an all India entrance test conducted by KIIT University. Fees - Course Fee Rs: 5, 20,000 (Per Annum)
