A 48-year-old school teacher from Bengaluru and her twin sons allegedly committed suicide by setting themselves on fire on Wednesday morning.
The incident took place at their residence in JP Nagar, a residential hub in the City.
Prima facie, the police investigation has revealed that the family was reeling under facing financial stress and the victims took this extreme step due to the same.
The teacher Sukanya’s husband, runs a wooden dyeing manufacturing unit which was running losses, making it difficult for the family to make ends meet. The twin sons, Nikhit and Nishit, were a techie and an animator respectively.
The police said that the husband was caught unaware of the incident. He was reading the newspaper in the living room when his neighbors rushed into his house, saying thick smoke was emerging from the bedroom window.
When the neighbours and husband rushed to open the door, the three charred bodies were found according to the police.
