Kerala cancels final exams of students till class 7 due to COVID 19

The class 7 final exams of Kerala students have been cancelled due to coronavirus (COVID 19) scare. About 12 new cases were confirmed since Sunday in the state. The government said in a special Cabinet meeting that exams have been postponed till further notice up to Class 7 but for will be held as per schedule for classes 8, 9, 10, higher secondary as well as universities. This is applicable for both CBSE and ICSE schools. All colleges will remain shut.

The government also said that students with symptoms will not be allowed to attend ongoing exams and will be allowed to take exams later. Further, food provided for kids in Anganawadis will be distributed at their homes. 

The Kerala class 10 and higher secondary examinations began on March 10 for 13.74 lakh students. The Kerala Secondary School Leaving Certificate or SSLC (Class 10) and Plus Two (Class 12) along with the Plus One, THSLC and AHSLC examinations will be held from March 10 to 26. The VHSE examinations will conclude on March 27.

The Kerala SSLC examinations will be held for more than 4.2 lakh students in 2,945 centres in the State. Of the total number of candidates, 2,16,067 are boys and 2,06,383 are girls, the daily reported.
