KIIT World School started as the New State Academy (estb. 1965) in the Punjabi Bagh neighbourhood of Delhi. Eventually, as the school grew, it was relocated to its present larger campus in Pitampura in 1984. A progressive senior secondary school, KIIT World School offers education from Grade VI through Grade XII. Its feeder school Happy Hours operates on a twin campus and offers education up to Grade V, after which students may be inducted in to KIIT World School.
Established under the aegis of Vidyapati Sansthan, the school boasts a legacy of 55 plus years of educational excellence and aims to “create a community of lifelong learners who are connected, confident, Indian global citizens, each one going on to actualise her/his personal potential.”
Founded by Shri Baldev Raj Kamrah, an alumnus of BITS Pilani and a true Gandhian and Late Shrimati Satya Kamrah as the New State Academy, Punjabi Bagh, the school’s genesis lay in the dreams and ideals of service and inclusion for a young India. Its foundation stone was laid by Late Shri Krishna Menon, the then defence minister of India.
The founder’s vision of contributing to national development through the provision of inclusive education was taken ahead by principal Dr. Sangeeta Bhatia who has helmed KIIT World School for four decades. Recognised by the Directorate of Education, Government of Delhi and affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), KIIT World School is defined by its quest for “path-breaking, purposeful ideation and innovation in education” and has received several prestigious awards and international accolades over the years.
Sited on a purpose built 1.4 acre campus, KIIT World School is located in a safe and well connected urban neighborhood with easy access to the twin campus of its feeder school, Happy Hours School.
The campus hosts 30 classrooms, all equipped with ICT teaching-learning facilities. Teachers are empowered to integrate digital pedagogical tools and online resources into the curriculum.
Physics Lab, Chemistry Lab, Biology Lab, Computer Lab, Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) as well as Social Science, Math & Language Laboratories enable hands-on learning for the students. The Art Room is situtated opposite the Physics Lab and Chemistry Lab, as a physical manifestation of STEAM, that integrates Art into the STEM subjects.
The school believes in continuous innovation to keep students in tune with the times and the environment. To this end, the school engages with family, community and society, opening windows to a larger world for students. At KIIT World School, teaching and learning are dynamic and contemporary, and students are prepared for life in times that are defined by an explosion of new, scientific knowledge and a growing array of complex societal problems.
