Overview

KLAY, Sector 49, Gurgaon is part of the Kids, Learning and You (KLAY) chain of preschools started by Jerry Rao (founding chairman and MD, Mphasis and former chairman, NASSCOM) and Priya Krishnan in June 2011. KLAY chain of preschools is an initiative of VBHC Education Services (VES), an education company with expertise in school development, curriculum development, teacher’s training and information and communication technology (ICT) for schools.

The preschool’s teaching-learning philosophy is based on Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences Theory and Experiential Learning where the child learns through experiences in and around one’s learning space. The curriculum also incorporates various pedagogies such as Montessori, Waldorf, Head Start, High Reach Learning, High Scope, The Creative Curriculum, Reggio Emilia approach, Bank Street and Forest kindergartens.

KLAY Preschools are compliant with the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) standards.

Campus

The campus hosts dedicated spaces for reading, block play, role play, indoor play and music and dance. The preschool also boasts a spacious auditorium and a computer lab. Cameras are installed at various locations within the campus for monitoring children’s activities and maintaining quality.

Academics

The preschool curriculum is based on Multiple Intelligences Theory; the school environment is child centered and teacher facilitated and equipped with state of the art technology and teaching resources. The teachers are specially trained to implement the teaching methodology and successfully accomplish the role of a facilitator. The preschool’s curriculum focuses on experiential learning through an environment that stimulates the children’s thinking.

The KLAY preschool focus areas are linguistic, logical-mathematical, Bodily-kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, spatial and naturalistic.

Admission

Parents can apply online or visit the campus, meet the center head and collect an admission kit after which an interaction is held with the parents; a formal admission offer is made and admission formalities are completed. Parents are expected to spend time at the school during the first week of the school session till the child adapts to the new environment.
