Loyola Academy (LA) is managed and administered by the Jesuits of Andhra Jesuit Province, belonging to the Society of Jesus, an international Catholic religious order. Loyola Academy, Degree and Postgraduate College as well as Loyola Academy Junior College were founded by Rev. Fr. T. Balaiah, S.J., in 1976 at Old Alwal, Secunderabad, Telangana, India.
The Loyola Academy boasts a sprawling 132-acre campus with six blocks, playfields and a farm. Affiliated with Osmania University, the college was granted autonomy in 1992 and was awarded the “College with Potential for Excellence” by the UGC. In addition to this, the college was accorded Grade A by NAAC in 2005 and the P.G. College became autonomous in 2010-11.
Loyola Academy campus is divided into blocks — Computer Block, P.G. Block, Agricultural Block, Administrative (housing the college office and the Principal’s Office) and the Inigo block. The campus houses a bio-reserve, an agricultural farm including vineyards and orchards, a church, many gardens, a huge percolation tank and a turf cricket ground. The college uses solar-power for lighting.
The college library has an area of 1234 square yards, with a seating capacity of 220. The library hosts 35,902 books, 41 Indian journals and 12 foreign journals, 42 magazines a collection of CD/VCDs, offers services like O.P.A.C. (Online Public Access Catalogue), information on current events, photocopying and printing, internet, e-Learning etc.

The Loyola Boys’ hostel provides accommodation for 115 students. Students are given adequate facilities including a state of the art study room, Hygienic bath areas and wash rooms, modernized kitchen and a dedicated sports arena and playground for the hostel dwellers.
