Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS) is a pharmaceutical institution under the Manipal Academy of Higher Education, and was started in 1963 with the inception of the D.Pharm. course. It became a degree college in 1965 by offering the B.Pharm. programme, and became the first college in Karnataka to offer M.Pharm. in 1970, and began offering Pharm.D. in 2008.
Accredited by the NBA and approved by AICTE and PCI, MCOPS hosts more than 2500 faculty members and over 10000 service staff, boasting high research facilities such as receiving research grants from UGC, CSIR, DST and DBT. It is one of the best pharmaceutical colleges in India and was ranked 7th in the pharmacy category in 2020 by NIRF.
The MCOPS campus has air-conditioned classrooms and several laboratories for undergraduate as well as postgraduate students with state-of-the-art research facilities. The library spread over 5 levels and spanning an area of 1.5 lakh sq. ft. has a student capacity of 1500 with separate areas for group and private study, providing them access to the campus network and over 63000 books, journals and e-resources. There is a separate audio-visual room and computer lab.
Other communal facilities on campus include the auditorium, cafeteria and gym. Sports facilities on campus include grounds and courts for basketball, cricket, hockey, indoor badminton court, swimming pool, table tennis, chess and carom. The campus also provides accommodation facilities to students via separate hostels for boys and girls, with 24*7 security, CCTV cameras, Wi-Fi, electricity and water supply.

MCOPS offers placements to its students via recruitment drives held annually, inviting top recruiters from the pharmaceutical industry. Popular companies visiting during campus placements include Himalaya, Sun Pharma, Pharmax, Bioclinica and Abbott among several others. The highest CTC is recorded around INR 8-12 LPA, while the average CTC stands at INR 6-9 LPA.
Recent placement highlights-2020: The median CTC offered to B.Pharm. students was recorded at INR 3 LPA, lower than that of 2019 at INR 3.5 LPA. The median CTC of M.Pharm. students stood higher at INR 3.5 LPA in 2020, lower than 2019 stats which saw the median CTC go as high at INR 6 LPA.

Accommodation facilities are provided to students. There are separate hostels for men and women with 24*7 security, CCTV surveillance, Wi-Fi access, water and electricity. Each room is equipped with a cot, a mattress, a study table, a chair and a cupboard for each student. Common facilities include a TV room, reading room and cafeterias.
