Overview

Promoted in July 1999, Mata Bhagwanti Chadha Niketan (MBCN), Noida is a charitable special school for mentally and physically challenged children managed by Ponty Chadha Foundation. MBCN Noida is fully committed and dedicated to the rehabilitation of children with mental retardation, cerebral palsy, autism and multiple disabilities.

MBCN works to create the possibility for an optimum quality of life for students and trainees and their families.

Campus

The school campus hosts 35 class rooms, one physiotherapy hall, four speech therapy departments, one seminar hall, a kitchen, canteen and a dining hall.

Other facilities include:

Ramp and sensor – operated door at the entrance for wheel chair users

Toilets have bigger doors and cabins are available for wheelchair users. Low height wash-basins for children are provided.

The building is fully equipped with fire-fighting system as per NBC norms.

The safety of children is ensured with CCTV surveillance.

Adequate parking for all vehicles including buses is available in the premises.

The school has adequate power back-up.

Academics

The school provides the following programmes:

Early intervention: Early Intervention Therapy is geared towards teaching basic life skills to children between three and six years of age. This therapy sets the right foundation for further learning that a child with special needs may need. The module focuses on imparting the basic skills in activities of daily living, motor skills, communication, and linguistic, social, and emotional context.

Speech therapy: Speech therapy involves the use of latest software that helps the child develop normal speech habits and a positive attitude towards vocal communication. The experienced therapists work at removing a child’s fear of stammering and maintaining fluency in speech.

Special education: The school imparts customised Individual Education Programme (IEP) that is focused to develop academic skills, communication skills, social skills, motor skills, applied and functional academics, self-care, life skills, recreational skills and prevocational skills through research-based methodologies.

Vocational training: MBCN offers the right vocational training to each student, depending on their capabilities and limitations.

Occupational therapy: This therapy trains students on basic functions. It enables them to move about in their day to day life without physical dependence on someone else.

Physical therapy: Regular physical therapy programme provides physically challenged children with opportunities to reach their optimal functional ability.
