Overview

MGM Institute of Health Sciences (MGMIHS), Navi Mumbai was established in 1989 by the parent body Mahatma Gandhi Mission Trust which was started by Honourable Shri Kamal kishore Kadam in 1982. Since its inception, the trust has focused on providing Health Care Services, School Education and Higher Education with dedication and commitment. The MGM Trust was established in Nanded, Maharashtra and later extended its reach to Aurangabad, Navi Mumbai and Parbhani in Maharashtra and Noida in Uttar Pradesh. MGM Institute of Health Sciences has been notified as a Deemed to be University in 2006 by the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Higher Education, New Delhi and was awarded Grade A by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). MBBS and postgraduate courses (MD/MS/PG Diploma) of the university have been recognised by the Medical Council of India from time to time. The university’s mission is to improve the quality of life, both at individual and community levels by imparting quality medical education to tomorrow’s doctors and medical scientists and by advancing knowledge in all fields of Health Sciences through meaningful and ethical research.

Campus

The Navi Mumbai campus is spread over 25 acres of land with a built up area of 10.600 square metres and houses the Administrative Block, Academic Block, laboratories, lecture halls, centrally air conditioned auditorium, hostels and state-of-art centrally air-conditioned library, equipped with over 20,000 latest books and journals along with on-line access to most national and international e-journals in all branches of medical sciences. The Aurangabad campus is spread over 70 acres with built up area of 35,000 square metres that includes Administrative Block, Academic Block, laboratories, lecture theatres, an auditorium with seating capacity 500, well stocked central library with over 20000 books and journals and internet access to most national and international medical journals. There is also 850 bedded hospital within the campus, equipped with state-of- art laboratory, imaging and therapeutic equipment, AIDS Research Centre and Blood Bank.

General Information

Admission

Candidates seeking admission at MGM Institute of Health Sciences must be Indian nationals, medically fit and must meet the age criterion. The applicants must have also passed qualifying examination with physics, chemistry, biology from recognised CBSE institutions with not less than 50 percent marks in PCB. Candidates appearing in qualifying examination in March/April 2015 are also eligible and are required to produce documentary proof of having passed the said examination with minimum 50 percent marks at the time of admission counselling. English candidates seeking admission to MBBS course should apply online in the prescribed online application form for MGM UG CET – 2015. Accommodation
