Sited at DLF Phase I in Gurgaon, Modern Montessori International is part of the Modern Montessori International chain of preschools. The Gurgaon center was inaugurated in 2005 by Tharman Shanmugaratnam, minister for Education, Singapore.
Modern Montessori International, DLF Phase I, is not only a preschool but also a teacher training center which offers courses leading to Diploma in Montessori Method of Education.
The prime motto of Modern Montessori International is to maintain the rich Montessori tradition by promoting the recent and comprehensive courses and child development services based on the Montessori Method of Education.
Modern Montessori International hosts bright, air conditioned classrooms with several attractive and child-centric materials for the children to work with. The preschool also houses a library, an auditorium, audio-visual room, activity room, conference hall and a cafeteria which serves wholesome and well-balanced food.
The preschool has a doctor on call for emergencies and every teacher is trained in first aid. The campus includes an indoor play area, an outdoor play area and a splash pool.
The preschool integrates all the traditional Montessori ideals and beliefs in its curriculum and in the method of teaching. However children are exposed to both Montessori materials as well as current developments in the field of education by incorporating sports, music, drama, art and crafts, and yoga in its curriculum for overall development of the child.
The curriculum comprises exercises of practical life that allows a child to develop control and coordination of movement, awareness of his/her environment, good work habits, independence, order and positive self-image; sensorial training to refine his/her sense of touch, smell, sight and hearing.
Children are able to perceive size, shape, color, sounds, texture and odors which lay a solid foundation for mathematics, geometry, geography, botany, art and music; they are exposed to multi-sensory approach of teaching-learning that combines phonics, stories and language experiences to bring meaning to the learning of reading and writing.
Montessori mathematics taught through the manipulation of concrete objects gives hands-on experience in learning mathematical concepts; Montessori cultural subjects cover subjects like nature study, botany and zoology, geography and history which are taught through activities like modeling, painting and collage.

The age criterion for admission to play group is 1.5 years to 2.5 years and 2.5 years to 4 years for admission to Nursery.
